Why make it tougher??

Today I spent a couple of hours trying to schedule showings in Malibu for this weekend. I have a buyer who is ready to purchase his beach house. I was shocked to realize that I, out of 11 requests, only received 3 callbacks! Come on!!

I just recently commented on a post in regards to this same frustration....why are you in this business if you cannot even return a phone call?!?! Needless to say, I will continue the schedulings tomorrow which should have been finished today.

In 2003, I purchased land in Port St Lucie Florida and hired a builder.  I spent a couple of days driving around identifying other properties and made calls to half a dozen Realtors.  I am still waiting for the calls to be returned.  business must have been good...wonder what they are doing to make a living these days.

This is so true. It is amazing how agents do not return phone calls. This happens all the time. I bet their clients would expect more out of them.

Hi Dominic,  If the agents haven't called you back in a timely manner, call their office to see if they can be tracked down.  It is in everyone's best interest to get hold of the listing agents as soon as you can.  Good luck!

You guys need to get Centralized Showings.  Calling the agent to arrange showings is just a disaster, especially if they are busy.  God help them if they aren't full time.  The majority of brokerages here in Charlotte have outsourced to Centralized Showings to handle the show appointments and provide the seller with feedback.  If no one is using it, you can be the first and sell it as a real benefit to your clients.  Just say, when you hire me, your home will never miss getting shown.

I agree.  It's hard to get agents to call back in many circumstances.  But you would think if you want to show their listings they would be more responsive.  Maybe they don't need the business.

This is just awful!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wish these people would just get out of the business and let the professionals take over...

Gail,

I'm suspecting that you wont ever receive a callback from those Realtors. Maybe they have all decided to take up their previous occupations! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Spencer,

Thanks for taking the time to comment! It would be great if these lazy agents got a taste of their own medicine....also would be nice to inform their sellers how lazy their realtor really is!!

Leslie,

I'm an Associate Manager for my office. Those are the calls I hate to receive about my agents!! Let's just say I hate to be a tattle-tale. But trust me, I have my ways to get these agents to respond ;)

Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to comment!

Jonathan,

Please explain centralized showings. I'm interested to learn more. Maybe I can have my office be one the first pioneers to try it out here in Southern California.

I have this often. It is especially difficult with large companies. If the agent is not responding, and they often don't, you try to get the info from the company, and this is a disaster. If I am calling of the sign, they never can find the property...

I received an e-mail yesterday with photos, good description, and no price for the property. So, I decided it would be the right thing to tell the agent about it.

I replied, and the mail bounced back with the message that in order to control spam I needed.... you know that stuff. Forget it.

Today I called an agent with the information which could benefit him. There was a message, that I, of course, could leave a message, and that he would return my call if HE FINDS IT IMPORTANT.

What the heck they are thinking?

Vera,

Thanks for stopping by! Maybe those agents have other more important things to do than just show their clients homes. Maybe they've figured out another way to sell listings! Go figure!

Wayne,

Now that the market is transitioning back into a market where the Realtors actually have to work to make a check, maybe the deadbeats will decide to go back to their previous careers! It would help the professionals out tremendously!

Jon,

"if he finds it important". I'm wondering if his broker knows that his greetings says that crap??  I dont think they have a brain large enough to think!

Dom, this is probably one of the most frustrating things to have to deal with.  I think we are all running into this more and more these days.

Joe,

I'm hearing that same scenario over and over again!
